Holland Baroque & Deborah Cachet

  • St James' Church

The Dutch ensemble Holland Baroque is looking closer to home this year. They are bringing a programme with them that features work by composers from 17th-century Brabant: music between Brussels and Den Bosch. A special place is reserved for Benedictus Buns, the composer who for years worked in Boxmeer in North Brabant. This is the home village of Tineke and Judith Steenbrink, who founded the engine behind the ensemble. His music demonstrates that he was well informed about European musical life.

Last year during the festival, the Belgian soprano Deborah Cachet worked hard at and successfully participated in the production AMOR. We are delighted to be welcoming her back this year. Moreover, she will be travelling to OdeGand by bike, as Ghent is her home city.
