Pianobattle (free of charge)
The first edition of the 123-Piano Battle proved extremely popular! Numerous fingers gave it their all. Will you be following in the footsteps of Steven Kleeven (aged 14), the winner of our very first edition? Register now for the 123-Piano Battle via www.gentfestival.be/pianobattle2019! The cheerful Sander De Keere and the friendly Sioen will once again be in charge of proceedings. Are you looking for somewhere to practice? From August onwards, there are various pianos dotted around the city. Stay up to date via www.123-piano.be. Participants must be aged between 8 and 15. Registration is possible up to and including 30 August 2019.
“OdeGand has an ear for young talent. The 123 piano battle is a way of bringing them more into the public eye!” explains Veerle Simoens, organiser of OdeGand. “Children between the ages of eight and fifteen who play piano are given carte blanche under the Stadshal. We shall select 20 children from amongst all those who have signed up beforehand. They’ll be playing their hearts out and they are free to choose whatever genre they wish, whether a classical piece or a contemporary pop or rock tune."
