The Wajd Ensemble consists of three professional musicians who got to know one another in Aleppo. Independently of one another, all three fled the war in their home country. They found one another again in Belgium, where they once again make music together. They present Soefi music, a music from the rich Syrian tradition, in which they do not confine themselves to the great classics, but also seek out the lesser-known repertoire. Alongside compelling vocals, traditional instruments are also used: the oed and the kanun.
