Čiurlionis Quartet & Kurt Van Eeghem

  • Handelsbeurs Concert Hall

Since 2018, Kurt Van Eeghem has been following in the footsteps of Lithuanian genius Mikalojus Konstantinus Čiurlionis (1875-1911) from Vilnius via Plungé, Warsaw and Leipzig to St Petersburg. This journey will culminate in a book due to be published on 1 September. In celebration of this, and of Kurt’s birthday, the Čiurlionis Quartet is paying a special visit to Ghent. The ensemble presents the most beautiful string quartets from Čiurlionis’ oeuvre. Born storyteller Van Eeghem presents the gripping story of Čiurlionis’ short life, with a giant copy of one of his paintings in the background. An exceptional experience that will stimulate all the senses.
